BLACK 12" UNIVERSAL SLIM FAN PUSH PULL ELECTRIC RADIATOR COOLING 12V 1730 CFM

this is the link to the fans they are universal and I used a flex-a-lite controller that I bought at napa but here is the link to the part on flex-a-lite

Flex-a-Lite Automotive Flex-a-liteŽ Adjustable Temperature Controller

at napa I paid like $45 for the controller and $23.85 for the fan on ebay with free shipping so all together I spent about $69 and it took me about an hour to install

PS I went for a flex-a-lite controller because I read on some forums that that was the part that fails not the electric fan and the flex-a-lite setup for my truck is $422 at 3000 cfm right now my fan is only rated for 1750 cfm but i figured id be ok if i need more cooling i could buy a bigger fan and still come out about $300 short of what they are asking..

Have you looked into a automatic fan control system? Using the thermostat fan switch and some relays to power the fan on and off?

Since I did my electric fan swap I found I used them so little I abandoned auto controls. I switch just them on when I am in traffic during hotter weather.

I blocked my upper grill and will block the lower one soon and then i will see what temps do..

30 is fully doable, before I got rid of my 99 Ranger I was able to consistently hit 27mpg with the 3.0l v6 on an auto trans. only a few slight aeromods and mostly adjusting the nut behind the wheel

so today my truck started to get real hot 215* per scangauge so i adjusted the fan so it actually ran!! didnt know the knob was turned the wrong way also cut out a tiny slot out of my lower air dam which I hope will help the slot is only about 1/2 inch tall by 12 inches long right above the license plate. anyone know the optimal temp to try to run in a tacoma or small 4 cyl truck like mine??

aktacoma, I haven't seen mine above 198 degrees on the scanguage. I'm inconsistently trying to remember to watch it. I haven't looked, but isn't there a wire on the clutch for the belt driven fan that we could use to trigger the electric fans?

I'm not sure what you mean but I'll look into it I'm experimenting now trying to cut my grill block enough to make the truck run cooler but if I was to do it again I would just use an in cab switch and monitor coolant temps because as of now it likes to come on then off then on even after I shut the truck off! I also just might buy a bigger fan to push more air through it.

by the way hows your topper going?

bigger fan wont matter if it doesnt have the air flow.
