40+ mpg 2015 Ford Mustang SVO

Fantastic! Thats solid thinkin on fords part.
It should power just under 280 hp mark and have stick shift 6 spd.
I have an 84 and 86 svo and need a donor engine.
Bring on the new SVO I am a fan B4 it is even built.
I hope they make it the mustang Flagship again. just dont make it so much more expensive than the V8 this time around.

Doesn't say 40 mpg. While it's definitely possible to get 40 mpg out of the Ecoboost four-banger motor, there's little chance of that being the official EPA highway figure for the Mustang...

Yah I imagine the epa being near that but not quite 40. The new chassis looks alot more aero dynamic then the previous few chassis. If they put that in a smaller rwd car that would be hardcore. Makes me mad that I have around 300 hp and only get 15 mpg on a good day. Fml.

Oh gawd, I may be one of those a holes driving a mustang in a few years.

So far Im hearing the boat tail like rear end where the center pokes out more than the edges isnt cool with a lot of people. THey rather the rear be flat like that of the charger, challenger and previous mustangs.

Dealers are saying it will be over 300 HP. Allegedly, 315 is the expected amount. None of the Ford dealerships I have spoken to know anything about fuel economy, let alone 40+ MPG claims.

The @Ford magazine (internal Ford publication) does not mention it either.

"The Mustang EcoBoost engine uses direct injection, variable cam timing and turbocharging to deliver plenty of performance and projected segment-leading fuel economy. A unique intake manifold and turbocharger housing enable it to deliver the performance Mustang drivers expect with output projected at more than 305 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft of torque." @Ford, December, Page 13.

Keep in mind, Top Gear should be using imperial gallons, too. Will check the Mustang forum I use if there is any more recent, or more detailed word.
