...I wouldn't dispute his numbers, but I would have more confidence after a second and third "confimation" set of numbers.
...an average of one might be suspect, but an average of three is nearly indisputable.
...and, FWIW, the SGII is certainly NOT a truly "certified calibration" device--but, it certainly *IS* far, FAR better than nothing.

See, I'm trying to not go there and say, your numbers are wrong, re-test!! No, I'm simply asking how they actually fill their tank up....
For me, I use the same gas station, same pump, same grade, and parked in almost the exact same way each time. I also try to fill up in the same time of day, but still temperatures, baro, humidity all come into play and can affect exact fill up numbers.
However, giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure you guys fill your cars as exacting as the time before??

...with most people here, it's something that we CAN control so is often among the first "gotta do's" when tracking FE.
...the "answer" is never more accurate than it's source number(s).

great questions! i do use the same station and same pump at my home town and destination. i fill the car slowly and allow it to stop all by itself (1 click).
i thought i was weird for being so dilligent.. maybe i still do sound weird.

i also use the same grade.
BTW, this is strickly gas-station to gas station driving, without any parking or cold starts. -- 3hr drive.

No, being dilligent is not weird, as it's a science in itself.... If being dilligent means double and triple checking things, then I'm guilty...
Thanks for not taking my questions as attacks, and merely me just inquiring.....
So you do only one click, interesting, I might try this. Have you found that trying to cram more gas in there helps, or makes MPG worse?? I guess that could be a whole thread in itself.

Okay, that's cool. I wonder what I can really get of my CRX if I tried this??
So I assume here that you were driving around 50mph?? Given that you have ~145 miles in 3 hours, I'm assuming ~50mph?

...speaking for myself: I also use the "slowest" fill setting possible--why? So as to minimize formation of "bubbles & froth" while filling which (obviously) will make the tank "appear" to be fuller than it truly is.
...want liquid gasoline, not bubbly-froth gasoline in there!

i was pushing 50-55 unless i was coasting faster. i even did EOC. (in my AT, gasp). lol.
i agree with old tele... it's icy cold while waiting on the gas to fill a little slower, but my excuse is burping gas so i don't sound freaky if friends ask.. my truck really does burp, though.
