6.2 diesel chevy blazer help?
Hello folks.
One of these has popped up over here, looks to be a 1982.
Its advertised as being a 6.2 turbo diesel-did the blazer ever come with a 6.2 turbo, or indeed did any vehicle that used it come turbocharged?
Cheers!

The output for a stock 6.2 na sounds pretty low for a large diesel..240ft/lb at 21.5:1 compression ?
My na polo does 91ft lb on 1.9l.

No offense but 5.7 gassers from that era were equally underpowered, sort of a growing pain coming out of the 60's that was cured some time in the 90's by GM.
The 6.2 is good at lumbering along in a bigger vehicle with moderately OK fuel economy.
They are cheap to own, cheap to fix and cheap to increase FE (tires, gears and manual transmission are all that is needed)
They also allow you to use bio-d

I think the Banks was a dealer option. Sold a 94 Tahoe 6.5 TD to a guy from Norway, flew to Iowa, I picked him up in Des Moines, he drove it to Cal and shipped it home. I'd love to find a 6.2 4x4 slow and steady get's me where I need to go.
First year or 2 of 6.5 had mechanical injector pump, 94 had electronic and some reliability issues. 18 mpg was driving normal. Mine previous owner was on first name basis with dealer mechanics.

Sure it's not so overwhelming, but still, if I had the chance to get one I'd do it in a heartbeat.

A 1.9 tdi vw, some larger injectors and a remap and you'd get there, whilst still having 45mpg+...

Sure, but a full-size Blazer is still cool.

I'm surprised there's a full-size Blazer over there at all.
Also I believe the 6.2 is what they used in Humvees and theres a reason for that.
