92 Civic vx Need Help!!!

Ok,

So yesterday I drilled out the plugs over the egr ports on my intake manifold to make sure they were clean and clear...AOK. I cleaned them up, sealed the holes, and installed the intake back on the car. Now here's the problem, after I get it all buttoned up and start it, the car surges at idle and is burning water/antifreeze big time. Imagine a horrible internal headgasket leak, that's what the end of my tailpipe looks like. Under throttle it blows white (coolant) smoke, and has a good miss throughout the rpm range.

I have no idea what is going on here. All I did was R&R the intake manifold, plugged and hooked everything back up, and viola... defeat! Now the coolant burning started immediately after I fired the engine so it seems to me that I must have hooked something up wrong and I am somehow sucking coolant into the intake? Any ideas here? I have the Helm's manual here in front of me and everything seems to be hooked up correctly (I am not a newbie mechanic, just to Honda's). I need HELP.

First one to figure it out will receive 8.5 gold stars (it's a really big deal)! So fire away your ideas and make me feel stupid

first thing that comes to mind is that there is a line with coolant in it that keeps the throttle body from icing up, it's about the size of the PCV hose, make sure that is not swapped with a vacuum hose.
Did you use a new intake manifold gasket when you put everything back together?

Ok,
So I still have no idea why the car seems to be burning coolant???

Ryland or someone else, is there any way you could post a pic of the specific hose you are referring to that I might have swapped?

I did go out and do a compression check and here are my results:

#1 - 152
#2 - 147
#3 - 148
#4 - 142

Not to bad for a 260K mile engine I don't think.

What do you guys think?

I can't find any good photos, but if you can take a photo of your car under the hood we, as a group, might be able to see a problem.

Your compression, considering that your engine was cold, looks really good, once it's warmed up it should be in the 195-210 range like it should be.

I suspect that you started out with a single problem and that is your o2 sensor.

fallow each vacuum line, compare it with the label under the hood, then fallow each coolant line and make sure it's not going to a vacuum port, you should have a small, 1/2" outside, 1/4" inside line going to the bottom front corner of your throttle body, and exiting the other side, that should be the only coolant line hooking to intake related stuff.
coolant lines connect to the engine block, vacuum lines connect to the brake booster, the intake manifold and a few other controls.

Ok,
So I have the car back running like it should (other than the slight dead pedal...o2 sensor), but I still have coolant burning and coming out the exhaust (ALOT). I have looked at the Helms manual and everything looks to be connected like it should. I did a compression check, but I don't have a leakdown tester to see if I have a headgasket problem (which wouldn't make any sense for it to blow while I removed the intake gasket). I am really stumped here... any help is appreciated.
