When you email a123 how long does it take to hear back?
I need some AMP20 cells and they haven't answered back.
My smaller LiFePO4 battery seems to be on its way out.

I never got a reply from A123.
There apparently is one legit reseller, and you pay a good price for the cells...
A123 @Mavizen
I haven't inquired with them to get a price though.

I do not believe there are. Everything on ebay is a quality rejected cell like the ones I have.

While it may not be run all that great in the past, A123 has some of the most advanced batteries available. They were also recently bought out by Johnson Controls, a HUGE battery manufacturer. Nothing fishy here.
We talked about it here:

Good lead batteries for home solar installations are still really cheap at $.12 per Watt/h. There is absolutely no sense in putting a lithium starter battery in a pick up truck.

The 3C discharge rate of the large prismatic cells work great for a typical EV conversion. Plus the large format makes pack assembly much easier than the smaller A123 cells.
I think the interest in A123 is more for their high discharge to weight ratio, for use in a higher performance vehicle. A relatively light pack can make a lot of hp compared to Sinopoly or Winston. My 40V, ~75 Ah, 65 lb A123 packs will sustain 19C (about 1,400A) with less than 20% voltage sag, and can deliver at least 2,400A.

What does a daily 19C discharge do to the cycle life?
