Your results can never be accurate because of the fact that you did not fill up at the same station twice. That is why acetone is so difficult to nail down. There's just too many variables in the gas station tanks and where the fuel is processed from. I've been playing with the stuff about two years now and always, always get varied results. I filled up one time at a shell in a different town, spiked the gas and actually LOST 2 MPG's! I do, however, believe that your driving habits greatly influenced your mileage over your buddies. BTW, I admire your vigilance in getting some logged results! If you refer to page one of this thread, you'll see my history of tests.

Well sorry for the wait ...

Here are the unofficial results of my *******ized Acetone test:

Tank prior to Acetone; 20mpg
Tank w/ Acetone; 23mpg
Tank after, no Acetone; 17mpg

So say what you will the car got better mileage with acetone and had a withdrawal after it was spent ...

I will continue to use it religiously until the engine falls apart. Then I will conclude its bad for the engine .. LOL

1oz per 10 gallon, thats all you need ... Check my log for accurate numbers

Weird, I wonder if the number of cylinders and displacement has anything to do with the amount added. I never get a change until I add 2 to 3 ounces per ten....

I lost quite a few MPG when I tried it. That said, I think it's because tank to tank testing is BS and that acetone doesn't do anything. Even if the test were double-blind tank to tank testing would still be bunk,

Most homeopathic remedies use great ratios to obtain their effectiveness.
I have a homeopathic "Physician" nearby who swears on the 10,000:1 ratio as best for curing what ails ya.
Just a little humor to lighten the day.
My sister-in-law is a licensed Homeopath.

I tried acetone in my accord a few times, and in my civic once. no real difference I could measure with a scangauge. I get fairly consistent 34 mpg in my 02 Civic Si. The biggest differences were always due to my driving...
