Or buy a junk bumper and screw into that. You can take that opportunity to then add grille blocks and smoothing til your heart's content.

choice C none of the above

all of the above methods
start off with a flawed design and then they try to fix it.

but
you can not polish a turd

by your own implied definition the design of your front bumper is flawed otherwise why would you be attempting to fix it ?

how about
removing the design which is known to be flawed
In Yourown Humble Opinion

and install a non flawed design created by
yourself -
you may make a few errors as the design progresses
that is ok .

thats A LOT of extra work to make a whole new bumper compared to screwing on a piece of lawn edging...one step at a time.

maybe but - no one said it would be easy

the lawn edging thing would be wasted when you move on to create your
improved front of car , in the time after the front bumper cover

remember
you will not be making a new bumper , you will be making a new slippery er
front bumper cover
the original bumper reinforcement can be retained .... if you so desire .

and
you would miss out on the disapproving /skeptical / jealous looks and rude comments from neighbors and co workers as your project progresses
if
you choose the easy ,less slippery path

Oh definitely, i totally agree on creating a full front end from the get go!! but i was just going off of him being hesitant in just drilling holes on the underside of his bumper where it would never be seen.

Thankyou people above, the lawn edging stuff is just what I was looking for for a smallish and not too noticeable skirt. Great idea.
