It's basically a radiant heat shield. It also keeps the bird/tree crap off the top/glass, too. Can't argue with that. Haven't tested it in the winter but I'm sure it would keep the ice/snow off just as well.
My first attempt was very basic...
this is my truck cab cover thread. It's basically secured to the open truck bed so it makes it very easy to deploy/store. It only took me about 10 seconds to deploy it and about 30 seconds to store it away. I tried it with the aero cap on but on windy days it would git caught up on the passenger side part of the aero cap. It's very marketable to the specific pickup truck market. I'm still playing around with designs/materials. The other products out there don't come close to my design...and their covers last about 1-3 years depending on the material. I would expect more like 1-2 years.
I was busy this morning... Pulled the side panels and cut the brackets that were sticking out a bit. Patched the sides (temporary) so I can git on the road...
I still have to figure out a way to put the ducktail on. Why a ducktail you might ask? This is why...gotta keep that rain off the back window and the air/debris out of the bed.
