What did you do to your ride this weekend?

Its not much , but I added two more ground wires. One to the head near the fuel rail, and the other to the alternator mount.

I also disabled the DRL's and added a warning light to show me if the fan is running.

Not looking for any noticeable gain but every little bit will add up.

I switched over to my "winter" wheels and took pictures of my PVC gauge pod and posted it in lyd's "vac-n-tach" thread.

I had a "Non FE Moment"...

The windows were down, the Fall breeze was crisp, and honestly -- it felt good to hit that redline, hear the engine, and take some corners.

Picked up some dinner, and...

Left the keys in the "ON" position since I coasted in the garage (as usual). Hands were full and forgot.

Sunday morning: Dead batt. Luckily I had the other car to jump it. Likely, it was my subconscious punishing me for a bringing down the tank average. Now the TCU has to relearn "fuzzy logic" in my driving style.

I overhauled the wiper motor/gearbox in my '59. Hasn't worked in the 8 years I've had it. Had to do it because I was bragging up my car to a friend but told him the only thing that didn't work was the wipers. That was a fun little project.

Very interesting that you asked when you did. That's about the time I finished up working on TANK the fifth.

Hopefully the pictures will cooperate with me. This is first time putting pictures in post, so here goes.....

Not quite as large and low as Big Dave's, but its a trial in progress.

The quick ties cost less than $5.00 and the rubber belt material was a leftover piece from a round bailer at a farm implement place. After I explained my experiment to the parts guy, he said I could have it FOR FREE, so long as I kept him informed on results.

The belt is 11" wide and really smoothed out the front bumper. I forgot to take a before picture, but google images will give you a good reference to go by. The bumper has 2 tow hook openings and a big flat license plate area. No support behind belt, will probably add something later...any suggestions???????

And no, I haven't road tested it yet, and yes I will post any results I find.

edit...added pictures to album here through user control panel(very nice feature) and was able to insert in this reply finally....yeah

It finally quit raining after a week, so I changed the fuel filter and heater core, both which have been needing done for awhile. Also removed the smack booster that I tried for a month early this year then quit using since I got no noticeable results. Also aired up tires to 40 front, 30 rear, tires are rated to 44 psi.
