race car!
I've had 2 people in the past 2 weeks ask me: "do you race your car?"
Another guy sitting on his porch close to the road at a red light: "Is that plywood or cardboard?"
Kids (age 3-20) LOVE the MPGiata. Lots of head-swivels.

I didn't know what a PMP 914 was so I googled it. First thing that came up was a bus . Scroll a little bit and the porches popped up.
I had an old neighbor recognize my car sans aeromods. He had seen pictures of it on facebook. Then about a week ago I saw him for the first time in a long time.

Ha - today (first time?), an older neighbour asked me: "Is that a Porsche?" Yup, it's a PIMP PORCH!
Last week, I passed 2 little kids on the sidewalk and one yells: "DO A BURNOUT!"
This car is sending the wrong message.

I get lots of thumbs up and " love your car " comments from beggars on the street corners.
( Is that a bad thing ? )
Kids like the car too, but parents are quick to herd them away from "the weird guy".
Kids especially like the shark mouth front end and the wheels.
People go out of their way to "bleep" their car alarms when I'm out working on the car.
They also look down and avoid eye contact.
Almost always with a smirk on their face.
After two comments about the car looking like a Batmobile, I decided to play on that a bit and added a bat tail on the end of the Kammback.
Much to my surprise, my neighbor knew that the Kammback was for aerodynamics right away, and mentioned something he had seen online on a Geo Metro.
( Darin - IT'S WORKING )
He has been friendly, but likes to make fun of what I'm doing.
My other neigbor ( I live in apartments ) also knew it was for aerodynamics, since he rides bikes a lot.
I was asked how many pennies in fuel i had saved with the mods.
They both drive cars with bike racks. One is kept loaded with stuff like camping gear year round.
I mentioned the aero penalty.
Something makes me think they decided to leave it on just for spite.

I'm finding people like Metros as much as Beetles, but they keep it on the down low. Best so far was the locksmith extracting a broken key, muttering almost to himself "Whenever I was looking for a Metro, nobody was letting go of an XFi."

There was an article about the British metro ending production in the BBC. same deal, now that it's gone people are comming out of the woodwork waxing eloquent, even the same people who previously said it was a junk car.
