I think what freebeard was asking is where the heck to you find water-cooled V8s used in aircraft applications? (Other than the occasional experimental.) Further, TBO is established by the engine manufacturer, not the FAA, and differs between engines. See e.g. The Savvy Aviator #4: Debunking TBO - AVweb Features Article for more.

Dont know were they find them just that their takeouts were an option to replace the blown 454ci KAP inc was using to propelits 100'×50' harvester

What a nice dream. IIRC max combustion pressure is close to TDC (right where I hate it because the leverage is so poor the explosion sits there too long with nowhere to go, pressing on the chamber, pressing heat into the cooling system ); by the time the lever is where we want it (90 deg ATDC) the chamber pressure is plummeting down and will soon be somewhat wasted as the exhaust valve opens while there's still pressure in the cylinder to get those gasses moving on their way out.

I imagine there would be a lot of problems with ring wear on that engine, that's a pretty terrible angle for the power stroke in the first cylinder.
