I heard that you could use used engine oil or transmission oil for fuel is that true? I have tons of used oil 200 gallons in garage now. We have guy come buy $.15 per gallons.
i wouldn't try that You can run em on filtered veggie oil though

Yes you can run them on used motor oil. It is best if you blend it with diesel however. The critical thing about using waste motor oil is that you have to filter the tiny bits of metal out of it other wise your injectors and injector pump wont last.

People I know that have had both the 300D and the 300D turbo said that the turbo got better mileage. If you want the best mileage get a 240D.

I loved my w123 wagon, it was a diesel but with all the complexiity of of a ham sandwich, it ran on SVO, had no timing belt, distributor fuel injection, Mine was an auto or as called it 'point and shoot' it may have had sod-all power but it kept going..... and going and going, loaded with engines/gearboxes or friends or furniture I don't think it ever changed down for hills and I lived in the lakes at the time!!

If I can get mine to do 25-30mpg city and 35 highway with a 5 speed transmission and Megasquirt EFI I will be very happy.

EPA says 18/24 for the automatic, 18/26 for the 5 speed. I believe them.

Man tjts,

Seems sort of complicated. Can this be done on the 190D only? Did it change the fuel consumption by much? How about performance?

Thanks,
Dave

Its a 190E not D. Megasquirt doesn't work on diesel engines. That 190e 2.3 automatic + MSQ easily kept up with my 190e 2.6 manual with stock KEjet. Both are running MSQ now.
