A new goldmine of information for Delta - Some sneak peeks at the frame and body. Pretty impressive!

CPC may make lighter bodies for them, 820kg is very heavy for composite. 500 would be more like it
Odd they compare it to a prius or tesla when an insight at 838kg would be a more apt comparison

Correct me if I'm wrong, but probably because most people aren't familiar with a first gen Insight, nor are they produced anymore. Prii and Tesla's are popular brands everyone is aware of and has probably seen. I don't think I've ever even seen a first gen Insight in person.

The Insight's reputation was forever tarnished by the later model.

Aptera just needs 50 million more dollars before they can all head down to Argentina, I mean start production.
Who's still buying this BS?

I'm just $50M away from having $50M, rounded to the nearest M.

freebeard, you want to get my old trike from high school going now that FUV is SOL?
All it needs is wheels, battery, motor, controller, brakes... and perhaps some other minor misc parts.
I bet for about a grand it would be a pretty sweet ride. Feels like a formula 1 car since it sits half an inch from the ground.

I like the Aptera Launch edition and hope they can make some and sell some. As many have said, who knows if they will. It's the only vehicle built in the 21st century that inspires me to want to buy one even though it's not as practical as I'd wish (2 seats instead of 4 or more, no spare, and no towing).
Anything else I will ever buy would be from a purely practical stand point knowing I'm just buying another boring sedan or whatever.
Well, the Aptera or an air-cooled VW. The VW would seat more people though.

Aptera is a university science experiment, not a consumer product. They're more dead than FUV.
As I mentioned above, you could get my science experiment up and running for about a grand, and it would be more efficient than the Aptera because it's even more minimalist. I bet our car was around 70 wh/mile. The 2HP motor could get you up to at least 50 (only had enough traction to get up to 45 on the quarter mile school track).
