The link (above) is for a design competition -- they are looking for an elegant solution to opening the (front?) doors. An extending scissor action is kind of what they are looking for. Here's a screen capture from the , showing a slightly different version with the headlights on the nose, rather than the wheel fairings:

At the very end, the motto is "The world's most advanced electric car is about to get even better." (Emphasis is mine.) I'm glad they are pursuing the electric (and/or a serial hybrid?) drivetrain.

I love it! Reminds me of those Pulse Autocycles, something so exotic and racecar-like, and yet outstanding fuel efficiency.

I always wanted a Pulse Litestar with the 4 wheels in the far corners for stability.

There is a new post on the Very Light Blog:

Edison2 - Very Light Blog - Edison2, Local Motors & Siemens: The VLC Design Challenge

A reiteration of the design competition -- I misread it before; it is to design the door handle (and not the door hinge).

Can't find anything about the door handle, but it's time we get rid of the pull to open handles with holes that impair the aerodynamics.

Push to open handles (rather, surfaces) can be flush-mounted and sealed in their normal state.

Hey theyre doing a live Q&A tommorow here at 1pm est TinyChat with Edison2 Thursday the 9th!

Bring all your your good aero questions and the things you've been dying to ask and well drown out all the stupid questions and ones that get asked constantly.

Some days are more exciting...(warning - VERY LONG read)

Apparently the EVLC is on the west coast. Maybe someone could figure out where this spaceport is. I know there have been regular sightings in California as of late down to the street. Anyone in the area could try tracking it down if they wanted to. It looks like they'll be on the west coast for at least a month or so.

I'd love to see the thing in person.

Best of luck to them in all their dealings.
