l'il update
The ebay igniter showed up in the mailbox Thursday.I installed it before dark.No effect.
This morning I removed the ECM,removed all its mounting brackets, pulled both covers off it for a visual inspection. Can't really discern anything.
I'm at Copy-Pro now,and have gone online to get SIA Electronics,Tilden,Illinois info.I'll contact them ASAP and ship the ECM for their testing and rebuild,if it meets their criteria. It will be around $180 if they can do it.
We're on our first of 5-rainy days,so I'll probably stick to indoor activities until the precip passes.

some project build photos
here are a few images from the warm weather:
*roughing in the hood blister extensions (built on the truck over waxed tape)
the hoe is used to make sure the cardboard doesn't move while the resin is going off (very high-tech!)
*Bondo on the first piece, while I begin the other side
*A detailed look at the roughed-in extractor duct (you can see hood-mounted soffet vent down below)
*With one coat of Krylon gloss enamel from WalMart
*I went ahead and shot the fake windshield with gloss black, thinking it will help the smoke-flow contrast at DARKO.

Remind us, is the fake windshield glass or what?
Overall, it's shaping up; what are your plans for the front skirts?

*I did wet layups of glass, matt, and glass right over the Viper windshield, creating the faux-windscreen.It weighs less than a pound and I should be able to squeeze it inside the truck somewhere for the trip.It will allow A-B testing and a way to isolate it's impact dragwise within 4-minutes.
*The skirts are going to be lowered even with the belly pan,as well as pushing the rockers out flush with the flanks of the truck.BamZipPow has done this and I believe it superior to what I've got.I won't be able to test the difference independently, but I'll get a look at the overall Cd.
I've got to have the truck inspected and new tags next month so I'll leave any new mods off until after then so the mechanics can have free access to wherever they need for the inspection.

update
* I called SIA Electronics Monday and they said they'd work on it and to go ahead and ship it.
* The local private post office was open and UPS and Fed Ex were operating,so it went out Monday.
*Yesterday (Friday) SIA called before the inauguration, said the ECM was ready ( 3-capacitors had fried and leaked over 3-tracers ).
*I paid by debit card and they shipped it out.So I should have it early week.
*We broke an all-time record for rain Sunday by over 300% and the shop flooded,so I've been working on drainage during dry spells.

The ECM showed up.Got it installed. No difference.
I'll keep at it,but I've got other fish to fry which have nothing to do with trucks or aero.

Me too. Today was sale day at the recyclers — I got sheet metal 2x4s for a frame, 1.5" square gutter downpipe to paint black for the collector and two 30x68 tempered glass shower doors (for free) which will span the gap between two of my 14" roof vents. Maybe $25 so far.
I did recently get a Dish antenna that's exactly the same diameter as the rear wheelwell opening. I'm going to cut up the faux-Foxcraft skirts that won't fit and turn them into bubble skirts using the antenna as a female form. I've never done fiberglass before.
I'm going to use a tab-and-slot arrangement at the lower corners. Do you think it would work better to have the tabs or the slots on the skirts? Macht nichts?

update
Purchased a new igniter from AutoZone.Made no difference at all.Essentially all ignition components are new now.
From 4-sources I'm constructing a sort of master electrical schematic which represents the actual truck. No single source, even Toyota's actually represents all the power/signal/and cross-talk pathways required for the truck to run.
And the published schematics never physically match the layout of the actual components, which causes my puny brain to slow to a crawl as I attempt to mentally transpose the electrical architecture.
Weather will be near record highs this week and I'll start at the battery and work through the pathways and see if I can isolate either an open circuit or faulty ground.
There are some relays which need to be tested and they 'can' be bench tested,so maybe that will bear fruit.
If nothing else,I'll know more about the truck than ever before.
The little Honda is getting me around and averaging 51.2 mpg in the short trips to and from Denton.

I'd recommend checking continuity from the ECU to the pickup/sensing coils in the distributor.
Not sure exactly what you have, but some of the typical internal ignition coil distributors have a circuit that is labeled G+ and G- and another that is NE+ and NE-.
The large ECU connector pins 17 and 18, G+ and G- about 200 ohms. Possibly red and black wires.
The large ECU connector pins 4 and 5, NE+ and NE- about 500 ohms. Possibly yellow and blue wires.
Also check that there isn't continuity from any of these circuits to ground.
Does it sound normal when cranking? With the cap off of the distributor is the rotor rotating while cranking? Just wondering if the timing belt is intact. If not it will crank very fast and smooth (no compression) and the rotor will remain stationary.
