I know that the idiots running wild life management in Virginia, a place where I like to vacation "wants to have bears be as plentiful as deer".
So the government is ensuring there will be more of these kinds of bear and human encounters.

Maybe the intent is to keep the deer population down?

I am confused. Are these bears eating your trailer?
5-10,000 lumens of strobe lighting. Cheaper to operate than a firearm.

My 300WSM won't glance on anything, but the best defence would be a simple AR15 and 30 rounds of rapid fire. I like the stopping power of the mag but only 3 rounds and a bolt action means the first shot better be good. In the confines of a camper the AR is the way to go for bears or whatever that comes in to do you harm.
As far as topic goes, just did a 3 yard load to the dump with the $700 utility trailer my brother bought 20 years ago. Also the advantage of a trial er over a truck, he would be never let me take his $50k new F150 to the dump, but the whole family uses the heck out of that little trailer

The noise from a gun alone would likely repel a bear. How many people have been killed from a bear after firing several rounds into one? They might be tough, but they still have an aversion to pain and fear.

I'll just plop this video here for your viewing pleasure.

Proof that you're a BA. I'd consider myself invincible at this point.

It's not intent, it's stupidity.

Fire it at a rock with about a 30 degree slant sometime.

Nope, just the opposite. I know I'm not, so I don't have to strut around with an arsenal trying to prove it :-) (And I do carry bear spray when appropriate.

I don't want to go whining to the mods; but if one of you doesn't show some remorse and have the last 2 or 3 pages split off into a new thread in The Lounge, I might.

Feel free to split it off. I have no idea how to do it myself...

You are starting to sound more like just a plain ass not a BA.
Way off topic to start pulling out ballistic charts but the 5.56 flat out beats anything the average Harry carries in a handgun for bear defense like say the .44 magnum. It's just difficult to walk around with an AR, but we weren't talking walking around, we were talking camper defense. Many Alaskans use the AR for defense and they have even taken down charging polar bears. It's easy to use and rapid fire so you can miss a few and still get the point across. Plus a .44 mag doesn't hold 30 rounds.
