Ford only sells 15,000 a week on average. Of course that's at $40,000+ actual spent not $100 refundable and you could buy theirs at any point in the last 100 years so there has never been a pent up demand. So the number is good for Tesla but probably only as a 14 million dollar interest free loan they will mostly pay back in a year or 2.

The cool thing about this design is that this will be the first production truck with a built-in aero-cap standard.
I am really curious about what the Cd is for this body??? It seem like there would be some airflow separation at the top point of the triangle.

It dawned to me that there's a car that I'd liked back in the days, fully aware I'd never own: The Rambo Lambo

It is flat paneled, it is fast, it has a (smallish) pickup bed.
It is not cheap, triangular or electric. Or reliable. But in an imaginary world that does not matter.

Glad it now has a worthy successor - for real.

My phone notified me of many articles about head-to-head and apples-to-apples comparisons between Tesla and an F150. I did not realize that Elon already staged one. This seems to be the $50,000 Tesla and a $30,000 Ford; the F-150 wheels just spun, while the significantly heavier Tesla had AWD:

Pulling competitions are pointless. It comes down to weight, tires, and torque. The F150 wouldn't win no matter what day it showed up unless it had a bed full of weight. Tesla is going to be heavier and have more torque.

You can get a new 4wd Cummins for the price of the dual motor Tesla. That seems fair. Similar price, similar GVWR. Of couse they don't want to try an match the mighty Cummins even though Tesla's is also a 3/4 ton class truck not a 1/2 ton like they try and compare.

Actually a gas Powerwagon might be better with front and rear lockers standard. Less weight though than the Cummins with just a rear limited slip.

It is odd (not really) that Musk has changed his benchmark when it comes to trucks. For the Model S he compares it to the larger Mercedes S-Class based on price so he can say he outsells Mercedes. With trucks he compares his 70K truck to an almost base model F150.

For the record $65,000 will buy a Ford F-450 XLT:

Does the 4wd Cummins truck weigh the same as an F150? I bet it's much heavier. But the Cybertruck supposedly weighs the same as an F150. What trim level and so on, I have no idea.

I saw Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Elon got into a Twitter discussion about the towoff. I actually think they're both wrong: once you have enough torque to spin the tires, it all comes down to which truck has more friction. And that depends on tires and weight. Like Metallica said, "Nothing else matters."
