The laser headlights are indirect and defused so shouldn't be hazardous.

Great, now the ***holes that leave their high-beams on can blind me from 10 miles away...

I think the use of laser should be limited solely to removing unwanted body hair (Automatic ads on this site seem to agree with me...)

ANYTHING with a 1-micron focal length can easily burn holes in a retina.

When a BMW passes you at night and the only thing you can see the rest of evening is a BMW emblem "halo"...maybe it had those laser lights?!?

according to wikipedia, laser diodes can have twice the efficiency and twice the range than standard LEDs (no mention how they came to this conclusion). If they get the spectrum right, then fine, but damnit this is not a serious efficiency issue, just "flash".

The video did say they are 100 times more dense/smaller than regular headlights (before it begins to diverge), so yah, if a kid walks up to your car, or someone in a wheelchair in a crosswalk...

This thread is lame! I was thinking of BMW's running around cuttin stuff in half with their laserbeam headlights

Honestly though, just another person who now has even more blinding headlights on highbeams as I make my home with regular lights.
