You might want to make yer own thread so we can follow both iterations of single wheel trailers without thread jacking.
Might I suggest you take a peek over at singlewheel.com and see what technology already exists that you can borrow from.
Singlewheel trailers today
Keep yer goal in mind. Yer over building yer tail which won't be carrying anything because you want to reuse most of the parts from an existing trailer. You can take the same approach as the single wheel motorcycle trailers which already has an internal hub with high speed bearings and a rim/wheel combo that can take the load. The wheel is easy to remove and service. A simple swing arm suspension with an integral coilover spring/shock combo will be able to handle the road shocks without killing yer budget or yer unsprung weight.

Another example that you could borrow from.

My apologies. I didn't realize I was doing that. I guess since I'm looking at two wheels now, it doesn't belong in this thread.

Threads go in and out of focus. But OP rules, right? If you don't do a build thread, then a generic 'single wheel trailer' thread would be new. The Mods can split on off for you.
I'd contribute:
That last one would be a fiberglass rod geodesic 5-wheel Class-C motorhome. Or at least the start on one. I'm trying to get a 3D modelling work flow up and running again.
edit:
Ignore the triangles over the windshield and doors. Now that I think about it the whole motorhome body could pivot at the jack points just ahead of the rear wheels instead of flexing. Whee!
Sorry about the thread-jack.

Took me awhile to dig it out of my thread but this was one of the dual wheel setups I had found on the Internet. It would resolve the issue about suspension and dual wheels.

You can see the rear set of wheels are setup to be non-swivelling.

As a newbie, I have not found how to start a new thread, yet.
