Finally got around to replacing the lower gap cover since it got beat up pretty badly during my last run out in the backwoods of Arkansas. I added some visibility tape so when Dark Aero isn't attached, other drivers can easily see the back end of the truck at night. I still need to tape and paint the cover with some flat black paint.
I'll eventually replace the cover with an aluminum diamond plate version once I git more funds allocated to my aero projects.

Sounds like this is your guy.

I chased it down. He was talking about under the nose of a Audi A4.
I though this was about the truck/trailer gap. Carry on.
Now I see the conspicuity tape. I price that stuff at about $10 a foot. Did you do better?

$0.60 a foot at Harbor Freight.

I think my single wheel trailer based boat tail has many different aspects to it. Most of it pertains to the approach of the build and not so much fer the actual aerodynamics of it. As far as the gap covers go, it's been very interesting to attempt various solutions fer the dynamics of the mechanics.
So yer saying that gap covers between the trailer and truck have no actual bearing on the aerodynamics of a boat tail? Interesting...
But how will I incorporate both of them into one complete vehicle? I guess that's one of my goals.

If one were starting from scratch, wakeboard control arms would be a good foundation. The top one is ~5ft. They're made in [slip-joint] sections so they could be shortened up. Light, tempered aluminum.

Drats! The swivel was frozen solid from the salt during this past winter run. Luckily I was able to unbolt the wheel housing at the swivel and break it free. A slobbering chunk of grease should keep it swiveling fer awhile. I'll have to pull the old grease zerk out and fit a 45 degree one in next time.
At least tipping Dark Aero on its side made it easier to work on everything. I'll have to repair the front chin pan later before I head up North.
