My EGR manifold looked similar to yours. Cleaning it made a big difference.

Yes they're all optimistic by a bit. Mine is 1mpg over. Part of that may be exceeding factory spec tire pressures. Larger diameter and all, although i dont know how much. I am running 55 psi on mine, although my standard drive is pothole free.

I'm running my tires at max sidewall (44psi). The Insight's trip computer consistently comes within 1 to 2 MPG on the high side. Pretty darn accurate, really.

I was eating lunch at Taco Bell the other day. A stranger walked in and asked "Is that your Insight?" When I confirmed that it was, he asked "Do you want to sell it? I've been looking for one to buy for years!"

I had to disappoint him.

Although....if I could get 6 or 7 grand out of it, then I could get a Miata and a Ninja....
