Back 10 years ago when I was driving bus, 50 seat school busses were available new from bluebird with a minimum 100 mile range electric and custom built ($$$$$) for up to 300. Back then they would have been either FLA or Nimh and probably custom chargers. The web site didn't explain chemestry or chargers.

General bus rule: if you think you cant get back, you don't go in.

At least with a good old ICE a few Jerry cans overcome most of the range anxiety issue. While a battery-based powerbank is now quite common for mobile devices such as phones, finding one suitable for a large vehicle would be challenging to say the least...

Pretty much they come with a map of school districts that have charge power installed, and a box of adapters. After 12 hours, you aint going anywhere anyways.
