Glad to see others in Idaho building things that most deem "crazy".

That really hits home... and I like the mathematical image. I can't seem to think right now, but a formula like Y = X^3 (where Y stands for WHY!!??) comes to mind.

I'm in Fruitland, and nothing nearly as crazy of a build yourself! I'm just rebuilding a Dodge Neon from the ground up. The usual aeromods and, with any luck, a hatch conversion. But your build is definitely inspiring!

i was just talking to someone today about fruitland/payette.
local home of every geo metro in the entire state, and most surrounding states.
lots of folks over there commute to boise, which adds up over time.
mountain home is another place for mileage connosieurs....

Looks like things are progressing well, Doug. That nose clip looks cool, but not particularly aero. Did you buy it off the shelf or did someone fab it for you?
Your comment that the honda tuner boys are more interested makes much sense and, IMO, going in a performance direction may make more sense for you, looking at it solely as a business venture.
I am sure the tuner guys with their fire breathing civics have figured out that whittling away the ass end is the ticket to losing another tenth or two off their 1/4 ETs.
Time to maybe widen that nose a bit so you can stick some gummy slicks in there!
Good luck. Hope to see a video of a roller soon.

Hey Doug, I see you have some new pics up. Things are looking pretty nice. I like the removable top. Have you been able to take it out for enough of a spin to she how she handles yet?

Nice pictures and a very interesting project. Looks like a good CdA, so should be pretty slick. I may have missed it, but are you going to use one of the lean burn Honda engines?

The NVNTRS.com mentions that the frontal area is 10 sq. ft. That sounds too low to me -- if it is 5' wide then it has to be just 2' tall. My guess it is more like 15-16 sq ft, but I'm making a WAG.
It you took a picture straight on the front with a telephoto lens and a scale like a yardstick beside the fender, I'd be happy to trace it in DataCAD 14 and give you a more accurate estimate.
