As it turns out I live in an old Union Pacific trailer (35ft R-lissence park model). It was a supervisor's living quarters. In the 1980s my little brother (RIP) bought and resold three of them that were set up for work crews with multiple bunk beds and twin sinks with mirrors, no kitchens. They hauled them around on railroad flat cars.

So says the person who never flew sitting strapped to the floor or a side wall jump seat. Bathroom? Kinda, Food/drink? What did you bring along? , but there was a water jug. If you're a really lucky platoon your sergeant might have a bag of horsecock sandwiches and a thermos of 2 am coffee. Got your winter coat?

I'll sit in econo coach with my knees against the seat in front, darned sight better than 2 am transport by a lot.

I often see containers being used for similar purposes. Some are reused shipping containers, while others usually made out of aluminium are built specifically for usage as lodging on jobsites.

Yeah, never tried it, but having room for legs would be nice, and not loosing part of my seating area to the 80% of Americans that are overweight. Peeing in a bottle would be way more convenient than waiting for beverage service to finish, then the 10 people who were also waiting. Most food I've ever had in coach is a bag of pretzels and a can of pop.

In prison transport, they wake you up at 3am and put you into a concrete holding cell for an hour. By 4:30, you're getting strip searched outside in the cold and then dressed in transport clothing. You're handcuffed in a block that keeps your hands perfectly parallel. A chain around your waist secures your arms to your lap. Leg chains allow short steps, but longer ones will result in a trip. You're missing breakfast as you board the bus.

The destination and therefore duration is unknown. There's no bathroom. Nothing can be done about the itch on your nose, or the eyelash in your eye. No water. As the bus arrives at a destination, names are called, but it's not yours, so another destination awaits. When you finally arrive, you just missed lunch, but the good news is you'll soon get a chance to get that eyelash out of your eye. After a couple hours waiting in another holding cell, you're finally escorted to general population around 4pm, and you'll finally catch a meal.

Hard to say if it's worse than flying coach.
