He didn't say when he lived in California. National speed limits use to be 55.

I live in Nevada, the state that had several major roads where the speed limit was what the car could go "safely" up until just a coupling of years ago when the EPA was pulling road funding. Imagine doing 75* and being passed by something like you were standing still. Also imagine a ruler straight road for 20 miles that you can see the end of, and you're the only car on it for most of the 20 miles.
*neutered Golf now has factory documented cooling issues above 80 continuous

Montana was "reasonable and prudent" until the put the national 55 limit. Then they made a flat rate $5 fine, just pay the officer directly and it was considered a "waste of natural resources" ticket not a moving violation so it didn't effect your rates. Then nationwide they got rid of the 55 limit and we went back to reasonable and prudent, no fine. Then somebody got a ticket for over 100 mph argued it to a judge, got it thrown out, and the state figured they had to define "reasonable and prudent." So now we have 75 most rural highways and congested interstates and 85 on rural interstates. Unlike say Washington they will let you go 5 mph if not 10 mph over those all day.

Drag racing would be a good use case.
With some aero add-ons, maybe a time attack/Pike's Peak racer.

If it was bad at 65, why would you double down?
Driving my wife's 2011, I'm only iffy in bad snow, and that's because I feel less safe in large ATs than in small MTs.

it was actually "more" stable going faster i only specified that it was unstable near 18wheelers Because of the huge wake they leave behind

22 MPG

I do like vans though. The Pacifica plug-in seems nice, if a bit unrefined in the integration of electric/ICE.
I always felt like the Ridgeline could have been something. Seems expensive, and 22 MPG isn't impressive. Grandfather always wanted one, but ended up getting a Colorado 4x4 instead.

Was that an 'average' MPG? Reason I ask is,a neighbor has a year-old Ridgeline, and claims up to 30-MPG on the highway. He gets 15-MPG towing a CASITA RV Travel Trailer. An average 22-mpg would be pretty good.F-150 EcoBoost owners I know average around 18-mpg.

West of Monahans,Texas,to within ten miles of El Paso, the speed limit is 80.Between Austin and San Antonio there's a toll road with an 85-MPH limit.Otherwise,75-MPH is about as high as I've seen. You can legally drive as low as 45-MPH on the Interstate. If you're struck from behind and can catch the offender, summary executions,in the bar ditch are permitted.
