Check engine light blinking while EOC

Title basically says it all, but here's some history...

Engine was jerking and threw an error code about 6 months ago.

Error code called for getting the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor replaced.

Got sensor replaced.

Getting 35mpg in the city with a 1.5L(manual) honda fit. Was getting 45 mpg in the city.

Check engine light blinks during EOC sometimes. EOC is without a killswitch.

Any ideas?

Do you know the code is that is causing the check engine light? If you don't have a code reader there is probably some "key dance" to tell you, For example with my Neon, with the car off I cycle the key to "on" without starting the car, and back to off three times, then on the last time the digital odometer will read out the codes. Your Honda is probably a different set of steps, but likely still a way to do it.

So is the CEL doing anything differently that if you come to a stop, key off, and key back on? On many vehicles, CEL blinking, etc is part of the initilization procedure.

autozone will pull your codes for free, likely the other parts places too.

Check the service connector to see if the jumper is still installed. Many Hondas have a plug near the computer(ECM) that when jumpered will flash the Malfunction idicator lamp(CEL) to indicate the malfunction code.

Blinking CEL is usually signaling a misfire.

I checked mine out. When I EOC and key off/key on the CEL
1) initally comes on steady for a few seconds.
2) then blinks 10 times
3) then goes steady again until restarting
4) then goes off after the engine starts

I also checked if I just do this with the truck stopped. The same exact thing happens. I think it's perfectly normal.
