Chevy Cruz ECO Owner

Hello everyone, I bought a chevy cruz eco about six months ago and am getting about 37.2MPG based on the OEM computer for combined driving. I am thinking about adding rear wheel fairings, but am undecided about the easiest way to make them so they look like a factory option. Im contemplating using an english wheel to roll out some aluminum panels and use camlock fasteners to mount them to the wheel opening. Does anyone know how close to the ground I can make them without worrying about a flat tire or a flat tire and a fully compressed suspension driving them into the ground? What Other mods might I consider that would not effect the looks of the car too much or void the warranty?

Also, If anyone knows the guy who posted the photo of what I think is an Alfa Romeo BAT speeding across the desert, I would like to get his permission to use the photo on a project Im working on.

Welcome to the site.

I have some pics of the BAT cars I took when they were on display in Vegas.
Got a couple nice and close up.

I'll have to root through my external hard drives to find them.

Extend a line back from the bottom of the rocker panel just ahead of the wheel arch and you'll have your answer. (The rocker won't hit the ground under full suspension compression, or with a flat tire.)

That looks more like a VW 1L with BAT style fins.

I think you are correct. I believe the image is a computer generated montage of the BAT and VW combined and not a real car...entirely. I revised it further and created more ground that isn't real.

Whomever did the original graphics work was really good!

Have you checked your fuel economy gauge against your actual fuel use? I ask because I have heard that the Cruze Eco over reports mpg's by 7-9%

I have not calculated it manually lately, but I did when i first bought the car and found it reasonably accurate, but I will check it again this week and post the results.
