...sliding "vanes" vs. "rotor-gear" is my point: "too much mechanical movement" vs. mechanical simplicity.

...of course, it DOES help, but one has to wonder "...how much?" because I seriously doubt it's a MAJOR improvement over the older, simpler rotor-pumps.
