Choosing a wideband

Several people here talk about running a wideband sensor, but I still have some questions. Some have mentioned that a wideband can output a narrowband signal. What versions do this? Also, which sensor should I look for for the cheapest to replace. Last, I read in here somewhere that you can fib on the signal sent to the computer throuh te wideband, is this tre, and which ones do it?

I believe it's the controller, not the sensor, that does the outputting as narrowband, etc. Not sure though. Check out PLX's products.

Also, I wouldn't mess around with fibbing about important sensors

If you are handy with a soldering iron, I recommend this.
14Point7.com NAW_OEM

I'm using it with my MS1 kit. Works perfectly every time.

For what it's worth,

The Innovate units, more expensive versions, have programmable analog outputs for the O2 signal, not sure if you can modify a narrowband voltage scale with it though if that's what you're after. I see they have out more affordable controller and gauge kits now also (low 200's) if you just want to monitor.

PLX controllers have been around a while, tried and true for low-mid $200's

NGK units seem sturdy from what I've heard.Techedge pieces are decent as well, an australian company with various models (with the option for an NTK sensor).

Some widebands are notorious, and seemingly destined, for failure so research good before you buy.

Most widebands have a narrowband output along with the wideband output, it really depends what you want to do with it. Some prefer linear output voltage scale controllers as they are easier to set up in tuning software.

I still use a trusty old school plx m300 that has been reliable for 5 years now.
