Christmas Presents for Cars?

Did anyone give a Christmas present to their car?

I bought some fancy new floor matts for my wife's Prius. I know, I know... maybe it's not the most romantic present ever, but it's the nicest car we've ever had, and I want to take good care of it for her.

We have lots of snow and salt on the roads here in the winter, and good matts really DO make a difference to the car's interior in the long run.

These are the WeatherTech floor matts. They're a little pricey, but the fit the car perfectly, and have a good lip on the edge to catch all the melting snow.

I really like the back matt - It's one big one that covers the hump in the back - something that usually DOESN'T get protected by most matts.

What about you? Did you give your car (or the owner of another car) a Christmas gift? What was it?

I got an LED work lamp which should be brighter and more efficient than my incandescent one. I also got some parts bins which I always find myself needing due to my awesome ability to just put nuts and bolts all over my work place. I also got $40 worth of gas cards which at my consumption rate should be good for a few months worth!

Every vehicle we own except the Ranger sits in a 735 square foot garage I built. If we get salt on the roads I clean the cars with my pressure washer. The Ranger got a set of plugs, tranny fluid, diff fluid, Bridgestone Ecopias, a cap and aero hub caps, wiper blades, a pressure washed engine, and undercarriage, blower motor clean and resistor replacement, a huge amount of time cleaning the absolutely filthy interior. Yesterday it got rubbeer insulators on the rims to keep the aero caps from rattling.

The wife buys cheap carpet pieces to cover her factory floor mats on her 2012 Sorento. The delaership gave her $100 for the false claim of 32 MPG highway that was later reduced to 29 MPG.

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas everyone.

regards
Mech

I've just got cheap carpet in the cargo area of the wife's Prius. I really liked the fancy floor matts, but add in the extra large one for the way-back, and whoooo pricey!

At some point, I would like to upgrade to a little larger piece of carpet and match the interior color better. I also plan to run the carpet up the back of the back seat (and put in a slit for the 60/40 split seat) so that the carpet also covers the back of the rear seats when flipped down.

There's something the factory matts don't do!

I bought a new, billet aluminum emblem for the grill on my wife's Tahoe. Her's was damaged and she mentioned how bad it looked several times and that she didn't like the yellow.

Santa got me a set of snap-on Moon discs for the Civic.

Santa brought me a set of Furry Dice and some money, which will be converted into LED bulbs and (possibly) a DAB adaptor, although if the BBC get the iPlayer radio app for Android sorted I can use my phone.

Also saving up for a new Exhaust system as the back boxes on bugs rot away every couple of years here where they use salt on winter roads.
