The sun is in control of everything 30 miles and up, settled science. And now control of the mesosphere is rightly contested.
Notice we don't hear "the sun doesn't effect the atmosphere" anymore.

Correct!
We only hear ' the sun doesn't affect the climate.' ( beyond what has always been in the general circulation models since day-one )

I mean, this has been discussed 50k times in that other thread already, but I ask again, what difference does it make who/what is responsible?
Humans change their environment to better suit their needs/interests. When the natural environment changes, they engineer for that change or relocate.
