Likewise the media:

Supreme Court ruled media can lie with impunity - News With Views
No matter what the GOP, Fox News, Glenn Beck, CNN and others say about Mr. Trump, and no matter how distorted the truth, or how many outright lies they tell, they cannot be held libelous because of this 1964 case, because proving malice, even when we believe that's what it is…is very difficult to do.
Free helicopter rides garners more attention.

Ummm you're asking the people that make the rules responsible for their actions & have penalties? Heresy I say.

The last century, I thought it was best to be the one in charge. That proved unmanageable so I now maintain the lowest possible visibility and ignore stuff.

Worst is anywhere in the middle of the chain. It comes at you from both directions.

Yeah, I always say I either want to be Janitor, or Owner. Nobody tells the janitor how to do their job. Everything in the middle is various levels of pointless struggle.

I dunno, our janitor only worked 10pm to 6am. We worked 8 to 4:30 so never saw janitorial. To leave instructions, you posted to his corkboard your demands in post it notes which might get done.

Too many self righteous Karen/Kevin people any more to enjoy being an owner

Except for Henry Ford-I.
He put one of his janitors in charge of the V-8 engine development project. The 'experts' had already told Henry that it couldn't be done, but evidently, the janitor never got the 'memo' and just went ahead and succeeded.

Engineering is among a few careers where being in the middle might be more tolerable because the math either works or it doesn't, and the suits can't argue against the math; they just have to accept you've done it correctly.

It isn't clear to me that engineering is a better job than janitor, or Walmart employee. At the end of the day, you go home and work can't bother you. There's no taking out the office trash at home, there's no placing products on shelves at home... clock in, clock out.

Most people prefer to have jobs like this, where they have no responsibility for the success of the business, no work to perform at home, and no stress of managing a group of employees.

These jobs pay less because the barrier to entry is much lower, and most people prefer the lower stress.

Problem with being a engineer is no one wants to listen to you. The Business, management finance types that run everything don't want to spend the money to build it right.
My engineer says I build stuff the way people want stuff built, but people only want pay the made in China pot metal price.
For example when I turbocharged my Kubota tractor I used 0.062'' wall 304 stainless process pipe welded together. Extreme over kill.

First principles first gets you things like the Cybertruck.

Here's a head-scratcher: Rockwall, TX:

The salient feature to me (shown in the thumbnail) is the plot plan, an irregular rectangle with cross-fencing in the Nothwest corner.

That's a natural formation and if you say otherwise you're a racist. Works every time.
