That's cuz the a2's are choked out seriously. I'm pretty sure Honda did that as a joke to the aftermarket too... "Hey kids! Put a $45 header on your car from ebay and get +20 horsepowers!!!"

you guys know the k20a3's have vtec-e right? Its one reason they seem a little choked

however i have seen them being lean burned tuned in person Honda does not tuned them like that from the factory unlike its other vtec-e brethren the vx and hx engines.

I dont know a whole lot about the K-series engines, but I know they're backwards, and not something I'm interested in owning... any information I give on them is purely opinion and speculative, based on input from owners that I know/talk to.

Unless I got it from a Honda manual or something, in which case I'd have stated that.

The thing about the K20A2 having a crappy header and being choked came from one of the techs at Bobby Rahal Honda in Carlisle, Pa.

Its cool, i just wanted to state the enormous potential for FE and power with the K series and really to the rest of the world they spin the right way, lol.

Maybe when swap prices comes down from the current 5+k i'll get a shot @ really seeing what they can do. One thing that blows a little is that you need to have k-pro (bout $1K) to tune

I meant they are mounted backwards for my car.. I'd chance a K-swap into a Ford Escort before I put it in my Civic.. lol

Then again, if you really want a decent performance car, and only using stock components, still streetable, check HaSport for the J-EG mounts. Something like $700, and there is always an Accord in a junkyard somewhere. You could do the whole swap for under $2k, honestly.

they do not have i-vtec-e, they have plain old not really fancy "2lobe" i-vtec. there is no E, there is no exhaust vtec, there is no 5500rpm crossover, its JUST one intake valve goes from a small almost round cam to then run on the regular cam from the other intake valve at 2200rpm, thats it, nothing else.
