I didn't know if powder coat likes Bondo.

Anyone who's seen World's Fastest Indian will know where to get lead, although IIRC it is a tin-lead alloy. Eastwood company sells it.

Powder coat ovens run at 450 degrees, but that doesn't mean the parts get that hot. Bondo degrades around 300 IIRC. I remember the powder coater we used being really fussy and bead blasting everything because body fillers contaminated his oven and fubared up following runs

I was suprised that one could still actually use and buy lead bars anymore. I know my fishing weights are steel, I cant buy decent solder, and the Washoe health department is pissy about repairing my 75 year old house.

Most powders "flow out" at 450 degrees. Then you decrease the temperature to 400 degrees until the powder sets. Usually 20 minutes.

Flow out is when the powder goes from the dull powder look to when it melts and bonds together.

Before flow out

After flow out, which is pretty much the end result in regards to color.

I have read that you can use things like JB weld that are rated for those temperatures as an alternative filler.
