I'm glad you're still around--usually!

I wonder if people would do much more than complain and blame whoever the current president might be if gas hit $10 a gallon.

I like the idea of EVs, but even once I graduate, even if I am making $80,000 my first year, I still think that I would drive my Camry and try to make my money work for me, but that is 649 days away.

A lady at Church mentioned her niece breaking both legs in the kitchen trying to dance... or something.
She had a long list of disasters that befell her family in a relatively short period of time, but that one really stood out.
How on Earth did that happen?!

Maybe something like this? https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news...-both-18111802
Perhaps this? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/708665...d-cest-la-vie/
I don't know if this is the same story or a different one, but Google recommended a video with the description of "In this video, we meet Clumsy Girl, who is trying to learn a new tik Tok dance. Unfortunately, she breaks her leg again while practicing!"

However, the thumbnail has an idiot making a Reaction Face, so forget them.

Miraculously the newlywed did not notice she had broken her size five feet and continued dancing until 2am.

It was only when the primary school teacher from Longbridge, Birmingham, took a trip to Queen Elizabeth Hospital A&E two days later that she was told she would need to wear two casts and rest up for the next six weeks.

I may go into the out now.

I was waiting for a notification from the lab or CVS, but was going to check regardless.

The locksmith finally came today, but while they had said 8-10, I called at 0945 and they said 9-12.

He showed up at 1145.

I needed to talk to a couple of ladies in the office for my brother-in-law to be paid to provide respite for my brother, give some information, and then fill out a three-page form.

Then I had Mom review it, which was excruciating.

It asked if he needed any vision, hearing, medical, or protective appliances and Mom kept shouting "His iPad! Tell them about his iPad! You need to tell them about his iPad!"

It didn't ask about that for a page and a half, so I continued, and she was furious.

Of course, she didn't like how I wrote "iPad with Lamp."

She demanded that I wrote "Lamp program," even though everyone knows that you call programs apps on devices.

The secretary asked "I just wanted to follow up with you in regards to your SRMR. Have you received your lab results yet?"

Is she legally required to use as many words as possible?

Since I couldn't download anything, I sent her a screenshot from my phone and from my desktop.

For some reason, the lab doesn't give much information in desktop browsers, only mobile ones.

I asked if she needed me to scan in the print-out I picked up and she said yes, so I did, and she told me to sign page 5 again, which all of us did at orientation, but I did it again.

Then, after class started, she wrote
Quote:
You are able to attend classes. Please note, you are still in progress of your Varicella requirement and need to get me the second dose documentation after your appointment on 9/9 otherwise you will be out of compliance again and will not be able to attend classes again.
However, that wasn't in our most recent conversation, entitled "Student Risk Management Records (SRMR)," she went back to the e-mail she sent me on Tuesday with the subject of "IMPORTANT: Noncompliance with SRMR- READ IMMEDIATELY!"

Was any part of this necessary?

That's bad. Even when I see bikers with broken legs, it's usually one leg at a time...

I hope that everyone is well.

I hadn't eaten the day that I was given permission to return to class (right after class started), so I ate and then went.

I think that three of my classmates were out another couple of days.

One was supposed to return for Second TB test on Saturday, but didn't go until Sunday, so she wasn't able to return to class for an extra day.

One of our Thursday classes must be the other one with the lockdown browser.
We have two classes where we have 2-3 chances to take the test, so we should be able to get a good grade without too much trouble.

On Thursday (I guess) and Friday we have in-class quizzes with Lockdown Browser and only one chance.

I think that the lowest score that I have earned so far was a 70%, but I have missed a few assignments completely.

We had three simulations the week I was prohibited from attending and since I wasn't there to discuss them in-class, I needed to schedule appointments with 3 different professors to talk about simulations that I did two weeks before, during an especially crazy week.

I saw one on Monday, completed assignments due that night, and tried to study for a midterm that I made up Tuesday morning, after seeing one professor, and before seeing another.
Then I did two quizzes and ran to class.

Those quizzes were due before class, but so was a discussion, and I just didn't have the time for everything.

I didn't feel ready for my midterm, but I was supposed to read 15 pages, participate in a 10-point discussion, and risk my 150-point midterm grade?

I should have done more over the weekend, but all that I did on Saturday that wasn't school-related was pick up the lady that I was dating and take her to breakfast after participating in a 5k for school.

I had felt nervous about mixing my personal and school life, but my classmates usually don't talk to me.

I thought they would introduce themselves to my guest, but they walked right in front of us and talked to our classmates and professors.

We supposedly finished 3.2 miles in maybe 50 minutes.

I walk quickly, but the lady that I am dating is 5'2", although she is a great hiker.

She asked if I had much schoolwork and I just groaned. She asked me to take her to a used bookstore so she could read while I did schoolwork and said that she thought of bringing her own book, but didn't want to bring her own entertainment.

I took her back to the Target near where we ate breakfast, bought office chairs, and we assembled those.

So, she quietly read while I studied.

It was interesting because I kept wanting to tell her things, but I didn't want to interrupt her reading, so I tried to focus.

It was frustrating when she pointed out at 10 that I needed to take her home, but she wakes up at 4:20 during the week to go running, so I probably should have taken her home already.

I barely made my deadlines, but I didn't finish ones assignment.

I thought I did, though.

We have a quiz due on Sunday, which was the first Sunday deadline we have had.

I kept trying to do schoolwork, but I am not sure that I ever work on anything before 2200 if I don't have a deadline that night, so I wasted most of the day.

Mom had my sister drive her to Show Low to disconnect the cable modem because Internet costs $143 a month.

I prefer having a security camera and had looked into buying more, but each time I tried to figure out what would be best for us I went back to my studies.

I called the lady when I got out of school, but we lost our connection twice.

I checked Dashboard and didn't have anything due tonight, although I have two larger assignments due tomorrow night, and should probably read a ton before my Lockdown quiz in the afternoon.

I picked up the lady, but all that we did was drive back, look for Italian ice, go to another store, buy it and shredded cheese, and since she ate when she came home from work, she watched me eat, we ate Italian ice, and I drove her home--90 minutes after her bedtime!

I don't expect to have that time again and maybe if I do I will just try to find my school e-mail, but every couple of hours it logs me out and returns to the school site.

So, if I go through all of my tabs and don't find my school e-mail, then I start looking for the school site, which I never intentionally visit, and if I ever find it then I log in and start trying to look at schoolwork, but if I don't have a deadline then I usually get distracted by one of my hundreds of open tabs.

Anyway, if I ever realize that I don't have deadlines one night or critical ones the next night, I will tell Mom not to make me dinner, pick up a burrito, and visit the lady at her place.

There were times when my mother, who might be among the most mentally unstable Karens that I ever met, would get mad at me for eating mostly outside, yet in more recent years while I wasted my time living with her for 2 and a half years which turned out a total PITA from mid 2019 to late 2021 I once overheard she telling her mother that she actually enjoyed when I showed up with a packed meal from some cheap restaurant I guess she would never even go through the door, so she didn't have to cook something better than whatever unappealing hogwash she was going to eat.

I survived another 6 weeks of grad school! I'm surprised, too! :D

I started observing at an elementary school on September 16th, my supervisor talked about me observing for at least a week, but he had me work with kids my first Friday.

My fourth day with kids was a parent day where we couldn't pull kids, but we spent an hour with pre-school, and I did an hour of assessment before the parent day started, which was my third, and then I spent over an hour trying to score assessments.

So, before most of my classmates started working with kids, I already had 11 hours, but I don't go in on Thursdays, when my supervisor is at another school, and he said that they discourage visitors.

My supervisor had last Friday off, this week is fall break, and Monday is in-service, so I basically have two weeks off.

Of course, I don't seem to be able to accomplish anything, but I spent several hours cleaning, mostly the kitchen and living room, where I spend extremely little of my time, but Mom and my brother spend all day.

I was supposed to submit all of our simulations to a site called Calipso, but I never got around to it.

I tried to look up directions and MUMU had some, but it said to upload dozens of documents and certificates of training that I don't necessarily recognize.

I was supposed to submit my first week's hours on Sunday or Monday, so I figured out my schedule and submitted one day's worth.

I need to figure out the other three days, but I asked my supervisor how late he wants me to stay on Fridays, and he hasn't responded.

I need to finish scoring those assessments, too, but I don't think that I can log 5-10 hours just because I am slow.

For some reason, I have been planning on driving to Show Low with Miss Hiker on Friday the 13th.

Hopefully I can resume working on the 2002 Civic!

I came back here today because our professor showed us two videos for radiologists about stroke and the damage it does.

I didn't understand anything!

I just realized that my progress reports were due last night.

Oops!

Eyeglass World was supposed to have good prices for bifocals, because I am that old now.

Over the phone it was supposed to add up to $480, while I spent $400 just replacing the lenses in my bendable titanium frames, but in-person it totaled $745.

Someone recommended America's Best, but they would have charged several hundred, too.

I used $39 glasses before, but they wanted five or six hundred.

Zenni is supposed to ship them for $251 with all of the options, but I didn't look for bendable titanium with any of these companies.

I always hear that they are still available, just not as good.

Infuriatingly, my laptop screen is blurry right now.

I keep moving my phone further away than I normally want and everything focuses, but if I move it further away, it just gets blurrier.

I swear that a year ago I could read close-up just fine and it seems like my near vision is continually deteriorating.
