It's gotten to the point where I'm lost as to what we're even debating.

Some people claimed that you should get in the right lane when driving slow. Well duh! Of course I agree with that!

Then others are arguing hey that won't work where I live! Ok? Then it works where I am!

I got caught up in all this debating before I realized:

This is a false dilemma!

We're arguing about people who don't pass in the PASSING LANE? Of course that's idiotic! No one said it wasn't!

This thread has derailed into a he-said she-said ego fest where facts are nowhere to be found.

I think the main source of debate here is about hypermilers, or just plain slow ones, holding up traffic behind them on regular two lane roads. Multi-lane highways are less troublesome, assuming people use proper lane discipline.

Oh wait, I have a term for it : Pulse and brake!
The clueless who are so aggressive as to run up and brake, run up and brake ad nauseam.

It takes two to Tango as the saying goes.
I stay well away from the inept drivers, I will literally pull off highway and wait 5 or 10 minutes for a buffer between me and their driving.
The highway leaving my city is only two lanes and we see our fair share of tourist in gas sucking motor homes and inept drivers.
I'll let the line up go on ahead, i'll hang back do some pulse n gliding , coasting down hills, carry on with my drive.
