Brakes - I tested this one time. Full wheel covers made of coroplast. At the end of a 10 mile drive, I reached around the back and grabbed onto the brake rotor. It was cooler than the tires!

That's pretty gutsy... Use a thermometer next time as you don't want to find out how hot brakes can git the hard way.

With a thermomter...you could answer the next obvious question. What were the temps on the other rotors that didn't have the cover?

If money isn't an issue and you really want to only have the insides enclosed...Kleen Wheels will work slick for you.

I've used them on my 1990 turbo Grand Prix to eliminate the brake dust and hours it takes to clean that dust out of the basket weave rims that came on that car. Never had an issue with the brakes on the car even though it was 3200lbs and only had 9" rotors front and rear.

I got those a few years ago but then I removed them. Recently I put them back because the pizza-pan covers collect brake dust like mad from the front disk brakes. The dust makes removing/reattaching a mess.

its surprising that someone brought this up, since Ive been going around about this in my head for a couple of weeks now.
my plan though, incorporated outside wheel covers and inside wheel covers.
I also was thinking of some way to make a rodster style cover, that would enclose most of the wheel, leaving only an inch or two open at the contact level. but discarded that idea due to the possibility of brake heat.

I think if you do both inside and outside (at the hub) of the wheels, it should have a small effect. maybe not actually noticeable by themselves, but adding to the aero mods as a whole.
