That explains the facial injuries. I'm guessing the back edge of the windshield caught him as he was thrown forward from the impact.

When I hit a deer on the Interstate on a cycle my fullface helmet had a 3" wide scrape from the bottom left side of the chinbar, over the face shield, to the top right of the helmet. Couldn't imagine not having it on.

I was in my friend's Mercedes in Germany when she hit a deer. It should have totaled her beater, but she had more money than sense. I believe that I hit an elk, we were never formally introduced, but it was in elk country, and it did vastly more damage than the elk did to my friend's car, and they were similar sized-vehicles. It dented in my grill, hood, windshield, and the first foot or two of my roof, but I still drove home, although it was mostly downhill.

Good old Honda!

I really hate deer.

Damn near killed a friend while he was riding his Electraglide. I hit one a few years back in my ranger. Completely trashed the front end. I drove it a few more yeaars, but, ended up sending it to the boneyard when something else went.

Should be open season on the damn things year around.

Word. Deer are food. Encourage bow hunting to thin the herd along roads.
Best wishes Craig.

I checked with Alan Smith and he advised me Craig will be probably be in ICU for another week. Still under a lot of sedation but he has opened his eyes and can move his arms and legs. I plan to visit him once he is able to accept visitors. Please keep the good wishes and prayers coming.
thank you, Vic

there is a dangerous stretch on hwy 73, by the dump, just before Poor Acres. the wild hogs get as large as cattle and are hit at least 3 times a month. one was so large i thought it WAS a cow. gators get hit also but not like the swine. i become a hawk when i enter that area.
