I believe the whole drive train is in the back. The car's rear track width isn't stock either (it's narrower).
Those wheels. I think they're from an Olds Cutlass: they're the same as on my neighbour's car in the background of this shot...

So what has the drivetrain changed to and what type of rearend is it. If I remember correctly those wheels have an extra hole for another lugnut. So whats the game lol?

Apparently 8 permanent magnet ETek motors: Here's the drivetrain:
Though I only count three... Hmm.
There are 8 cogs on the driveshaft however.

That's awesome - I love the look of the rear end too My only caveat - that looks like a lot of unsprung weight o.0 Is there some suspension in there that I can't see?

I don't see any suspension. Only the tires.

suspension
That car looks awesome! I guarantee it rides like **** though. No suspension in the back unless the entire trunion back there moves. I would think that is a really poor design to have the batteries and motors move with the suspension. I love the way the car looks though - makes it look like a lambo.

It does kind of look like a lambo. Weird.
Consider what it was built for (drag strips). Are drag strips bumpy?

Only three of the Eteks are installed - you can see the gears are paired; one of the aft Eteks isn't installed which is why 2nd left set of gears has nothing on it. The other four Eteks go in front of the gears with a chain going to the other gear.
