Crossover e-velomobile, PodRide

A tidy fossil fuel-free and urban conveyance, the Pod Ride. Swedish inventor Mikael Kjellman created a one-person four-wheeled pedal/e-motor velomobile that has the thoughtful combination of convenience, safety and rain/winter protection. Doorway-clearing, 250-watt e-motor & lithium batteries, 4-wheel drum brakes, waterproof body to keep you warm and dry in any weather, LED headlights and turn signals, heated (removable) windshield w/ wiper, padded seat, Rock Shock shock absorbers (studded tires in winter), small trunk and a tow bar for a bike trailer.

Off-road capabilities.

He just started a crowdfunding campaign in an attempt to raise $30,000 so the vehicle to be produced.

That stoppie/endo at the end of the dirt track video is going to scare off the greyhairs!

Proposing wheelie bars...in the front?

Kinda of a cool marketing factor that he took it on the BMX track. Add solar panels, fans/evaporative AC, cool aftermarket wheels & tires, overvolt the motor, extra LED lamps, wifi sound/subwoofer system and a dramatic dye-sublimation graphics on the fabric cover!

I was so glad he dropped the up-speak for "Thanks for watching". That would be so wrong.

I like the Safari windshield and sun visor. It needs pop-out variable-track suspension.

Interesting! My 2003 E-Pod 3-wheeler never made it to mass production. That first link ran on to "5 Top" and 4 of the 5 were in the same time period. Time machine!!

Too high drag.

I wonder if we'll ever see velos that are both affordable and efficient....

I like it! I hope he builds it, and I would like to know the price.

It is no Quest, but it is lower drag than a regular bicycle.

This is one of the best machines I have seen. Shipping things like that can be tricky so selling the plans around the world is an option.

I was pedalling around town today thinking ——> What if it had a door with a 1950s space helmet in the top of it. You sit done and it closes onto your head. Height is adustable, H-point is fixed.
