Not to mention an already stiff ride from the nicely inflated tires for hypermiling purposes.

Go for it, if the car is half-way decent on a test drive, it's worth taking home. The EF Civic models are old-school Honda-reliable in most cases, and get excellent mileage when driven to that aim.

I bought my Civic wagon for similar money, and in similar shape. It needed some work to pass emissions and new tires, but otherwise it's paying for itself. I average 40 MPG, and the wagon is taller, longer, rides higher, and weighs ~600 lbs. more than a CRX. I wanted a CRX all along, but the wagon was more practical. I'm still searching for a cheap CRX, and for $900 I'd probably buy the one you're looking at were it in my area.

The main thing I'd be concerned about is the alignment after they dropped it.

Make sure to ask the seller if they put a camber kit on it when they dropped it. With 2" of drop you'd definitely need a camber kit to get the camber back into factory spec'd ranges.

Damn Punk Kids

Went over to look at the CRX.

Wasn't there - already sold yesterday.

I had called an specifically arranged for an appointment on Thursday evening to come look at it on Saturday.

He sold it on Friday and didn't bother to to give me a call saying that.

Thanks for the waste of gas!

Must remind self to call and say something like "I have an appointment to come see it - you still have it right!!!?!?"

Darn punk kids these days....

Oh well, it wasn't an HF anyways..
