I just love EZ Pass. Gliding in to the tollbooth this morning, suddenly I heard a horrible racket. A debadged silver VW sedan decided I wasn't approaching it fast enough and farted its way by me... to stop in the cash only lane. Eventually the BRAAPing got louder and about a half mile later he caught up with me again and kept going.
A few weeks ago a debadged black VW did the same thing, except not as well- he didn't catch up with me until my glide into the second tollbooth 10 miles down the road, and after that one it took him five miles of more open road to catch up again.

Just reflecting on how after nearly 3 years of unemployment; I got a new job 6 days ago!!!
I love to drive. 3 of us from the greater Portland/Vancouver area took off in a rental
car for Boise. We took 5 trips moving rental trucks to Salt Lake City. A 6 day adventure
with the company paying our NICE motel bills. Comfort Inn's have a QUALITY
continental breakfast!!! One location had do it yourself waffles, scrambled eggs,
hard boiled eggs, plus much more including fresh fruit.
Not exactly the ecomodding driving; I had to get used to driving at 75mph. once
again. It had been years!!!! (in the rental car) The trucks have the gov' ner
that limits top end to 72mph.
It is nice to be paid for doing something that you like!!!

Reflecting on my 1st solo LONG trip for the company: Drove a 1yr. old refuge truck
(right hand drive) from the Portland area back to the truck factory in IN.
Not w/o some drama.
Eng. check light came on when PRINCESS smelled a hill, and would surge/buck until
I agreed to back off speed for hills.
150 miles I had to limp 40-45mph. tops into Omaha for professional look at as per
owner.
The delay caused my company to pull the plug on the trip, but a flight home not
available until evening of next day.
The truck got fixed by mid-day, I got reinstated with PRINCESS again!
So I did finish THAT part of the trip. Check eng. light still comes on, but flatter
ground here permits the cruise control to power her through.
I'm some 90+ miles from the Indianapolis airport. The rental car places in these
small towns are all closed for the holiday weekend, so I'm somewhat happily
stuck in a motel until Tues.
But I get to relax here on the company, and watch both races today, plus the
NBA playoff games!
Driving on the right side of veh. was abit hard to wrap my mind around for a while!

Hit my first milestone for the Del Sol, first 40+mpg tank (41.71 to be exact)!!! Next goal 45mpg tank, should be easier to achieve once my MPGuino gets here. So far my only mods are my adjustable grill block, mudflap delete, EOC switch and adjusting the nut behind the wheel. When I get more into aero mods I think I will be closer to my end goal of 50mpg.

Delivery was yesterday afternoon. (Sat.)
Autocar brand in Hagerstown. A family gave me/luggage ride to Richmond, further away
from Indy, but Enterprise rental here to be open Tues.
Imagine what a 90+ mile taxi ride would run???
