Database (aero/fuel economy resources - books, papers, sites, universities, faculty)
Is anyone else interested in having a kind of database listing resources? I'm initially thinking of books, technical papers, web sites, universities and facility active in the field of research on vehicle aerodynamics and fuel economy.
Maybe something like this already exists and I just haven't tripped over it yet...

I like the idea, categorize the links or papers in their respective field. Would be a great learning tool for everyone.
Have it stick to the know facts and leave the theories for discussion.

Is this something that could be accomplished with this site's wiki?

FYI, per Darin's suggestion and admin help from Doax a new Wiki page is under way. I spent some time today seeding it with some content I had in mind.
Virtual Library - EcoModder
Take a look. This thread seems a fine place to hash ideas. The whole point is open model anyway.

I can't edit the wiki, so before I forget, I reccomend "How to Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn. It is a lot easier to read than most chassis texts, but accurate and thorough. If you are changing ride height, weight, or rake you can understand all the possible complications. Other situations all the way up to designing from scratch are covered.
"The Theory of Wing Sections" by Abbott and Von Doenhoff is a standard reference, but only really useful with a lot of background material.
There's a really handy table in "Bicycling Science" by Whitt and Wilson about energy storage that I refer to frequently. Lots of other information for Velomobiles and Ultra efficiency.
Either Wicks Aircraft Supply or Aircraft Spruce & Specialty have catalogs with the latest lightweight materials suitable for homebuilders, with small quantities and fair prices.
There are cheaper epoxies than WEST, but few as versatile and well supported by instructions for beginners.
I don't have a good reference on the Stitch 'n' Glue method of boatbuilding, but it should be considered by anyone using sheet materials for a tail extension, etc. Usually, by the time the sheeting is on, you discover that you didn't need a frame, just a fastening strip, since the corners of a box are naturally strong.

I'm thinking that the technical paper section should be further subdivided. Say, aerodynamics, electrical, and mechanical.

Hey everybody, these are some good adds. I would've thought any member in good standing could edit Wiki pages. (shrug) Keep parking content and adding feedback on this thread. I may be bandwidth challenged for a week or two so TIA for patience if I don't act on everything pronto.
