Dead Insight

Hello all. I have just joined and I am trying to get repair information for my son's 2001 Honda Insight. Is anyone familure with the common problems organic to this vehicle? particularly not starting after the 12v battery has gone dead.

Yes, not starting after the 12-volt battery has gone dead is a known feature. Replace/recharge the battery, or just jump-start the car, and it'll be fine. Assuming the 12-volt battery is good, that is, and it was just drained by e.g. leaving the lights on. If the battery is bad, you need to replace it. The small OEM battery is hard to find. I'd suggest replacing it with the larger one used in the Civic &c - I think it's a group 51.
