I have deleted both A/C and P/S and I'm not missing that at all For sure engine is spinning much easier at idle so if you're coasting with engine on you'll gain some FE for sure.

I can't provide any numbers though because I haven't done any A-B-A tests.

Yeah I do quite a bit of neutral coasting

Since my power steering belt broke last summer I have noticed no real difference in mileage.

I have taken the belt off today we shall see what gain I see. I took it for a test drive at slow speeds it takes more effort to turn but not terrible at speed its fine. I did notice it coasted longer without the belt on.

I recently did a test where I spun the P/S pump up to different speeds using a power drill, optical tachometer and kill-a-watt meter.
The results were at 850 RPMs the P/S pump took almost no power to spin at that speed only detected about a 150 watt draw.
The posibility of gaining any MPG improvement form a P/S delete were looking to be slim to none.
But when I did the test at a more normal cruising speed of 2000RPMs the P/S power consumption jumped to about 500 watts.
For a small car that turns higher RPMs on the highway that should make at least a 1MPG difference.

With my suburban a 500 watt accessory reduction should make at least a half MPG difference.

Yeah I don't expect to see high gains but I'm looking at the big picture my goal is to get to 40 mpg. One less accessory will increase coasting as well

Blew the hose 2 years back. I couldnt find one so did a simple bypass to keep neutral hydraulics action and fluid inside the rack n pinion.
I did see a 1/2 mpg increase but project snow balled at this point and it would have required 3-4 tanks test to give you solid returns answer and that never happened.
The new more amperage toyota alternator and Largest battery I could fit were next added 2 weeks later.
This was a 1+ mpg mod also because Darkened morning drive kept running Alternator on constant .
Small Batteries are lighter but wont run headlamps for long till alternator starts constant on off cycles. "Good Mod" for night drivers.
Also larger pulley reduces voltage peak mine went from nearly 14.4vdc to 13.2under driving it.
I never looked back and cant say exactly how much had changed where, as said I went into modding it full force and fast.

I thought about doing this in my accord but in a fast acting swerve scenario I would regret that mod. I would hate to not be able to control my car properly to save a little gas.
