defusers - good or bad for ecomodding?
As an avid Formula follower I get fascinated by the creative aero devises they come up with.
Lately defusers have been getting plenty of attention.
Obviously they're focusing on downforce, but would there be any benefit in reducing drag?

Yeah, lots of drag can be created or avoided at the rear of the car, and the diffuser contributes significantly. Proper diffuser design results in reduced drag (or increased downforce, depending on your goals), but many of the performance parts people bolt on to their cars are primarily cosmetic.

In order to reduce drag, the diffuser should receive clean air from a flat underpanel. A diffuser angle no more than 7 degrees will reduce drag.

good
Hucho's book covers diffusers as related to drag reduction and shows two designs of 2.5 and 4-degrees,depending on where the up-sweep originates under the car.

I used this online trig calculator to compute my rear angles...but only allows 1 decimal place fer fractions.
This one allows much more decimal places...

Get smooth covers on those wheels! Those deep dishes are creating quite a bit of drag.

Rear sides are on...
Kinda reminds me of a TIE Fighter...
Smooth wheel covers are on the list...just not a hot priority at the moment.

Sweet! Now just extend those side skirts into rear wheel skirts...
