Try to replicate Chevy Volt technology, not Honda Insight. Unless the second gen Insight has that tech too. Presumably you could program your way out of that problem but I would not know where to start.

I like 'em, especially the blurple one. I think you're ready for door cut lines. How about a kabinenroller side hinged canopy?

the cockpit is from a Romanian 2 places sailplane IS 28B2
I think the idea can be used with different sailplanes cockpits...

I'm interested in headroom and roll bars for DIY vehicles- are there any good safety threads? The main point being a roll bar can be dangerous without a helmet, so I'm wondering about safe distances between a roll bar and the human head.

Calfianu, I also like that 'blurple' one, it is similar to the reverse three wheel designs I was doing. Except the whole 'batwing' over the dual rear wheels, that is.

Perhaps you should start a thread showing more of your designs, so we can ask questions?

Smurf, I will do so. If I cannot drive one, at least I can talk about it.

As for the roll bar question; pick a racing class that reflects your level of seriousness and look to their published specs.

Those are probably all based on wearing helmets. I'm concerned about the safe distance between the human head and the car's structure. Maybe I'm overly concerned about a roll bar versus the doors and A pillars being just as risky. The other thing I think about with respect to homebuilts is crumple zones.
