I thought about that after I posted. Bicyclist's helmet? 5-point seatbelt? Sometimes when I'm driving on the freeway I wear a neck brace to prevent 'whiplash', let alone impact. Race car drivers call that a Head and Neck Restraint

The Edison 2 people talk about the safety feature of a break-away open-wheel design. It really shines in the offset head-on collision.

Really? The tub and stairways are where you really need it.

Thankfully, I don't have either of those.

Times past, my neck has been so bad shifting gears was painful. Guess I just have a massive head.

Sheetmetal Drawings being made

Final ready to build something. Working on getting a deal to fabricate the chassis. Its pretty much a done deal, just have to figure out how to get my stuff made with out disrupting the flow through the factory.

Question about chassis offering to ecomodders

From what I have noticed ecomodders aren't happy with just good enough. Even if their car is getting 100mpg, they will keep pushing for that next mpg. As some of you know I am building a high mpg car with hopes of mass producing and selling it to the general public. Any of you who have heard of the term "lean start up" have probable heard of the term "Minimum viable product".

Instead of waiting another 2+ years to launch a complete car, I would like to share an Idea with you. What if a complete chassis was available to ecomodders, and you could add bodies of your own creation. The thought is then the bodies created that really perform well would be made available for purchase by other ecomodders. So My company would sell the community the chassis at reasonable prices and then together we would continually build on that base. The creators of the best bodies or accessories would be compensated for for each copy there body or accessory sells through a central website.

Please post feedback or contact me directly.
Thanks,
GoGogebic

GoGogebic, my two cents, and don't take it the wrong way because I'm only one guy with a keyboard.............................driving on the street, being seen and or heard are your best defense(s).

I would like to see a more upright seating position, and this may also afford you the opportunity of heightening your side impact protection.

Like you said, true ecomodders will never be happy anyway. Some will argue a lower Cd over safety, it's done all the time on this forum.

I like the effort, but get a "one-off" going before trying to involve others, or you will just look like so many others who are better at dreaming than they are at doing.

Nice work if I haven't said so yet.

Thanks for the update. What do the light green and red represent? OK, the red is tubing, but is the green a C-chanel frame or a monocoque?

Well, it would certainly get you around Federal crash testing.

Herding cats. The only place I can see it working is to build to specs for some specific racing classification.

Enjoying the thread. Good luck moving forward.

PS: I'd need it to have 2 seats for my personal use and my guess would about 50% here are in the same situation.

Edit: maybe a solution would be to offer 2 bodies. 1 body could offer more single passenger room+nice cargo space, while other could be a 2 seater. Just an idea.
