I believe all OBDII cars are at least 4 wire (heated) sensors.

oddly enough, no. I remember changing the front O2 sensor on a ~97 grand am that is a 1-wire unit from the factory. the post-cat sensor is heated though.
looking at the service manual now implies the same.

looking through the service manual of a 99 metro implies both sensors to be heated.

For practicality, I'm going to say 36". Here is a model of the header with 37" runners on it. You can see its already going back fairly far.

Have you modeled whether/how that can be maneuvered into place in one piece?

It shouldn't be an issue installing that from below. But the front anti-roll bar might need to be moved out of the way to get the header in place.

How stiff are your engine/transmission mounts? With pipes that long, you need stiff mountings and/or flex joints in the tubes to prevent the header from bending or hitting the body and/or ground.

It will definitely need a flex pipe behind it. It may need a hanger around it too. You don't want the header pipes fatiguing and cracking either. The engine mounts are stock. I have no idea how much the stock engine moves.

Open the hood and pull the emergency brake. With the engine running, let the clutch out slowly and observe the movement.
If a hanger is needed, attach it to the other side of the engine block so it will move as one piece with the engine as it rolls back and forth. Do not make the flex pipe short. Longer is better.
